The Runner’s Wishlist: Perfect Gifts for Men Who Love to Run

My son recently celebrated his 22nd birthday. He loves to run, and he’s a 2:28 marathoner who has been logging tons of miles in the past 8 years. Needless to say, running gear is ALWAYS on his wishlist. This birthday, I scoured Amazon for the best gift’s I could find for a passionate running guy like him. If you’ve got your own running guy in your life, here’s a round-up of the best running gifts for men on Amazon. Whether they’re a seasoned marathoner or just starting their running journey, these gifts will surely put a smile on their face.

My TOP running gift for a guy is the Asics Novablast 3. Every runner knows that a good pair of running shoes is worth their weight in gold. The Asics Novablast 3 does not disappoint! These shoes provide exceptional cushioning and responsiveness, making them perfect for long runs or speed workouts. The stylish design doesn’t hurt either – they’re as comfortable as they are good-looking. They are a neutral, lightweight running shoe that works for all kinds of runs. I am also a bit biased, as I’ve been running in the women’s version for the past 8 months and absolutely LOVE them.

Next, you can never have too many pairs of running shorts, and the G Gradual 3″ Running shorts are a fantastic addition to any runner’s wardrobe. They have a built in liner, a breathable mesh fabric, adjustable drawstring, and two zippered side pocket. Pockets are essential for runners to stash gels, keys, etc, and the zippers will keep all items secure. These are a great quick drying short that is the perfect length and weight for those long runs.

When runs get longer, you need some way of carrying water, your phone, gels, and other items. The FlipBelt Air Running Belt is a lightweight mesh belt, with pockets all the way around to fit in your essentials. Both my son and I use the Classic FlipBelt, but for his birthday, I upgraded him to the newer Air edition, which is even lighter material (all mesh) and features top loading pockets for quicker access. Paired with the FlipBelt Water Bottle, which is designed to fit perfectly in the flip belt (and contour to your body), you’ll be able to stay hydrated on even your longest runs.

Comfortable feet are happy feet, and Balega Hidden Dry Running Socks are all about keeping your feet happy. These socks are the lightest socks I own, with a very comfortable fit, and moisture management that can even handle hot summer days. With these socks on, you feel like you have nothing on, yet stay protected from blisters and keep the sweat off of your feet. Every runner can use a good pair of socks (or two)!

Finally, running long distances (especially marathons) demands a reliable source of energy, and PowerBar Gel Hydro Gels provide just that. These gels are easy to carry and consume during your run, giving you a quick boost of carbohydrates to keep you going strong. Since the gel is more of a liquid (and less like a typical gel), they are very easy to take on the run, even if you don’t have access to water. These make them a great choice for race day, if the aid stations don’t match up to the times you need to take your fuel. This was the gel my son used for his 2:28 marathon, so I definitely wanted him restocked! His favorite flavor is the Orange, but he also likes the Mojito when he wants a little caffeine boost.

These gifts are not just about the physical items but also about showing your support for the runner in your life. Whether it’s a birthday, holiday, or just a random act of kindness, these thoughtful gifts will make any runner’s day. Your favorite runner guy will thank you for it, and who knows, he might even invite you to join him for a jog in those stylish new running shorts or lace-up those Asics Novablast 3 shoes together.
